A suspect was questioned and released on Saturday by the Fiji Police Force as investigations continued into the alleged murder of the 21-year-old law student in Vesida, Caubati.
Police Spokesperson Inspector Jokatama Qio said the suspect was brought in for questioning and was released.
Inspector Qio said police investigations were focused on forensic evidence obtained by investigators from the site.
Police on Friday classified the death of the student as murder after the post-mortem of the victim’s body on Friday.
Law student Iosefo Magnus Qionitoga was laid to rest at the Lovonilase cemetery in Suva on Saturday.
Friends and family gathered to bid him farewell.
