THE TRADESHOW
HOTEC 2017 will have 50 booth spaces opened to registered hospitality suppliers and is not restricted to appointments.
This gives you better networking opportunities with visitors on the ground in a professional and comfortable environment conducive to efficient business dealings.
Exhibiting at HOTEC will ensure your hospitality design products and services are placed in front of a qualified and loyal audience base.
You will also have the opportunity to connect with local hotel and resort managers/operators and industry professionals that dominate the market.
FIJI TOURISM TALANOA – TBC
A seminar much like the Fiji Tourism Forums of past years, this seminar is being organised by the Ministry of Tourism and is expected to be held in conjunction with the HOTEC tradeshow in partnership with Tourism Fiji and Fiji Airways with support from the Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association.
The Fiji Tourism Talanoa (FTT) provides an informal platform for industry members to have cordial dialogue with key speakers to discuss key industry issues affecting our industry in the true spitit of ‘talanoa.
The Ministry of Tourism will also be discussing the Fiji Tourism Plan 2021.
MASTER CLASS FIJI FINALE
The grand finale of the Master Class cooking competition organised by The Coliseum focuses on showcasing the culinary skills and talents of Fiji’s female chefs with winners recognised and awarded prizes including a Master Class Fiji Scholarship for training at the renowned culinary Le Cordon Bleu in Seoul, Korea.
WINE TASTING and DISPLAY
A wine tasting and display event will be a popular part of this year’s HOTEC as it allows our local wine suppliers to showcase a variety of wines available locally with tasting notes that can be sampled.
This will be a charged event whereby proceeds will go towards the FHTA “Water for Schools” charity.
“BITE SIZED” WORKSHOPS
To encourage upskilling and create interest and awareness, a number of “bite sized” workshops will take place over the course of the two day tradeshow.
These workshops will see trainers, sales people and connoisseurs in their areas of expertise provide backgrounds, tips, innovative new ideas and advice from roasting coffee beans, creating new cocktails, introducing new locally made alcohols to making chocolate.
BARISTA COMPETITION
A learning experience for competing baristas who get to show-off their skills and creativity in making the best and creative cup of coffee. Competitors are invited from all over Fiji.
COCKTAIL COMPETITION
Fiercely competitive, this competition has had competitors from the various resorts from the main island to the outer islands competing for the “Bartender of the Year” title. Judges are comprised of well-known industry business personalities.
