Fiji Airways Drua Ready To Play

Fiji Airways Drua rugby head coach Senirusi Seruvakula has made positional changes in their line-up against the Canberra Vikings in tonight’s clash at Viking Park in Canberra, Australia.

The no-nonsense coach said the players have been told to work hard and not be complacent with past achievements.

“In some areas it’s surprising and all the teams in Australia had thought that we’re just going to make the numbers.

“I think they think this time we’ll be somewhere near the bottom of the ladder, “ Seruvakula said.

“But before we started the NRC campaign I had a one-on-one with my players and I had a team meeting and said this is not about making numbers. I want to coach a team that makes a mark and this is where we are now.”

The Fiji Airways Drua are leading the standings after four rounds on 15points

Seruvakula has moved skipper John Stewart back to outside centre while straight-running Eroni Vasiteri is at inside-centre.

Tough Eroni Sau is now  on the wing with Avete Daveta while Apisalome Waqatabu, Frank Lomani and Kini Douglas have retained their spot. There is no change in the forwards line-up

Seruvakula said he was pleased with the improvements shown by the Drua on defence and in their discipline after receiving no yellow cards against the Spirit and 10 penalties for the match, compared with 17 in the previous win against New South Wales Country Eagles.

The match kickoff at 9.30pm (Fijian time)
