$54K Boost For Fijian Bati

The Fijian National Rugby League received $54, 202.94 from Pacific Energy during the final draw of the “Fuel Up & Support the Fiji Bati Campaign” promotion at the Pacific Energy Service Station in Kinoya, Nasinu yesterday.
This is to help in the hosting of the Tri-Nations Cup tournament on October 14 at the ANZ Stadium featuring the Vodafone Fijian Bati, Papua New Guinea Kumuls and Australian Kangaroos,
The tournament will be used as a build up to the Rugby League World Cup on October 21-December 2.
Pacific Energy sales marketing manager, Rajnesh Prasad was grateful to support the campaign.
“We witnessed the final draw of Fiji Bati campaign where we announced the final 9 winners who will be getting 9 free tickets to watch the 2017 RLWC in Australia,”Prasad said.
“We are very excited to be here and to be among some former Vodafone Fijian Bati players and the current Fijian residents as well.
“I would like to thank the people of Fiji for supporting the Fiji Bati through Pacific Energy promotion for the last three months.
“We have few more days to go before the end of the month so I would like to encourage the public to come along and fuel up knowing that every litre of fuel and Shell lubricants that we sell, one cent goes towards the preparation for the Fiji Bati.
“And I must highlight that in the last three months, we have collected over $150,000 and at the month, I am pretty sure we will cross over our $200,000 mark. This wouldn’t have been possible without the support of the public.”
FNRL chief executive officer, Timoci Naleba was overwhelmed with the financial assistance.
“We would like to thank Pacific Energy for having the confidence in the Vodafone Fijian Bati team and we are confident that with this partnership we will go a long way,” Naleba said.
“Also, we are looking forward to the Battle of the Bati, Rugby League Tri-Nations Cup and the Rugby League World Cup.
“I would also like to acknowledge the support of Pacific Energy towards Rugby League development had been tremendous.”
