The annual Island Breeze Rugby Plus Sevens tournament kicked off at Nasau Park, Levuka, Ovalau yesterday.

Twenty four (24) teams started out with in a  battle for the $2000 first prize-money.

But after the first day competition, eight teams have qualified for the Cup quarterfinals.

The teams are Island Breeze Rugby, Kawai Homestay Qereqere White, Marist CYM, Tauranga, First Light Taveuni, Waqavuka, Bumble Bee Duavata, Newtown.

The objective of the two-day tour tournament  is to raise funds for the rugby clinic in Ovalau in January.

Cup quarterfinalists:

Island Breeze Rugby- Kawai Homestay Qereqere White, Marist CYM- Tauranga, First Light Taveuni- Waqavuka, Bumble Bee Duavata- Newtown.

Bowl quarterfinalists:

Bureta Brothers One-Kela YB, Bukawaqa-Eagle Warriors, Natoba-St John’s Two, St John’s One-Bumble Bee Duavata Green.
