McDonald’s Fiji is grateful to sponsor the Westcoise Games for children with special needs for the 15th year-in-a-row

The objective of the annual event, held at Churchill Park, was to provide a treat for children to play in an international standard sporting facility.

Chief guest Beverly McElrath hailed the games a success.

“My late son Craig had initiated this event more than 10 years ago and my family and I are pleased to see that it continues to grow and improve each year,” McElrath said.

“I want to thank Ana Tuiova and fellow head teachers for continuing to make this happen for our brilliant stars. This wouldn’t have been successful without the hard work, commitment and support of some people behind the scenes.

“To the teachers and parents, thank you for believing in our stars each and every day. To the beautiful stars, we hope that you continue to aim for the stars no matter what you do.

Fun games include Tag Rugby, Just Play, relay and not forgetting their social evening programmes.

The theme was ‘believe in our stars.’

Western Council for Special Education president Ana Tuiova said the two-day event will beef up the students as they prepare for the annual National Competition on November 1-2 at Churchill Park.

She thanked the event partners – Goodman Fielder, FIJI Water, Turners and Growers and Lautoka City Council for making the event a success.
