The Fijian Pearls suffered a 52-34 loss to Scotland in the Netball Europe Championship in Cardiff, Wales yesterday.

The Vicki Wilson- coached side failed to settle down early and had to play catching-up throughout the match.

In a thriller Northern Ireland edged out hosts Wales 47-46 in the competition opener.

Wales goal shooter Georgia Rowe had one last chance to equalise with six seconds left, but her shot rolled agonisingly off the basket lip.

In today’s fixture defending champions England take on Scotland while Wales face Fiji.
