The Fiji Airways Drua staged a remarkable fightback in round six of the Australia National Rugby Championship yesterday.

It was not only the match they have to win after losing convincingly to the Canberra Vikings 66-5 the previous week.

They also recorded their biggest win in the NRC with the 57-31 victory over the Greater Sydney Rams.

The Drua’s eight-tries-to-five bonus point win at TG Milner Oval ensures they will stay in the top four with two rounds to play,

They led the points table after  Queensland Country missed out on scoring a bonus point win over NSW Country Eagles.

The John Stewart-captained team played with full of  fire and vigour and energy,

After leading 24-21 at halftime, the Fijians fought back twice to retake the lead.

The team will take a well deserved break in round seven and take on Queensland Country where they will defend the Horan-Little Challenge Cup on October 21 at Churchill Park, Lautoka.

The last round of the NRC will be in Suva on October 28 at the ANZ Stadium in Suva.

We are in pole position to be in the top four when pool rounds are completed.
