Man Accused Of Underwear Theft Refused Bail

A 42-year-old Labasa man charged with one count of theft of 27 undergarments was denied bail by Labasa Magistrate Court yesterday.

Viliame Tuinawau appeared before Magistrate Cama Tuberi.

It was alleged that on October 9, the accused stole 21 female under garments and six men’s under garments from Nikhil’s Easy Buy shop in Labasa Town amounting to a total cost of $80.

Labasa Police Prosecutor Constable Monish Chandra objected for the accused to be released on bail.

Hence, the accused was further remanded in custody.

The case has been adjourned for mention on October 30.
