The 4R Electrical Ba side showed why they are the team to beat after thrashing Suva 5-0 in the second semi-final of the Courts Interdistrict Championship at Churchill Park, Lautoka yesterday.

The Men-In-Black stunned Suva in the 5th minute when Narend Rao slammed in a low shot that sizzled through the defence and caught goalkeeper Tevita Koroi napping.

Then moments later Samuela Nabenia slammed in the second goal followed by another Meli Codro classic as they led 3-0.

Nabenia haunted the Suva defenders as he again slotted in his second goal as they led 4-0. Then again in the 61st minute Rao kicked in the final goal.

Ba manager Arvind Singh said playing in the semi-final is always tough but they played wonderful football.

“We will do our best to clinch our 25th title as we know that Lautoka is the only toughest team in the country. We urge our fans to come out in numbers to support these young blokes.”

Suva coach Sam Lal congratulated Ba for the big win.

“They played with speed and strength,” he added.
