Upcoming light heavyweight boxer Savenaca Naliva has accepted Joseph Kwadjo’s challenge.

Kwadjo issued his challenge after Naliva stopped veteran Sakiusa Mekemeke of Ovalau in the fourth round at Prince Charles Park, Nadi on Friday night.
The Sorokoba native had too much firepower for Mekemeke forcing referee Fatu Tuimanono to step in and stop the fight.
“It was a good fight as I knew that Mekemeke would be tough but unfortunately he had to retire early,” Naliva said.
“I’ve accepted the challenge from Kwadjo as we were supposed to fight in the last programme but unfortunately he was involved in an accident. Good to see that he is in good spirits but I thought he had forgotten me.”
Kwadjo said he was anticipating their last fight but got hurt in a road accident. Naliva has accepted my challenge and I thank him for that and there is more to come our ways.”
Boxing Commission of Fiji director Usman ‘Lale’ Ali said the event was a success.
“The night programme was enjoyed by the fans and as for the knockouts it all rest on the boxers as there cannot be two winners as only one will come out victoriously,” Ali said. He confirmed that BCF has approved two promotions to be staged later in the year.
The next promotion is set for November 11 by Kiran Boxing Promotions to be staged at Tilak High School Hall in Lautoka.  The last promotion is on December 16 at Subrail Park, Labasa by Canada Fiji Southern Boxing Promotions.
