Prasad Scoops Dux at Nasinu Secondary

It was a dream come true for 17 year-old Vikrant Vinod Prasad as he received the Dux award on Friday at Nasinu Secondary School.
Vikrant not only won the Dux award but also won first prize in his form, the subject awards for Mathematics, Economics, Accounting, Agriculture Science and the top Commerce student.
This was his first year at Nasinu Secondary School as previously he used to attend Assemblies of God (AOG) High School with his twin brother Vishal Vinod Prasad.
Vikrant said that he and his twin brother were very competitive in school but admitted that Vishal was a bit brighter then him academically hence he changed school’s to try and win the Dux award.
“Since my brother is slightly smarter than me we decided that either he leaves AOG High School or I do so I decided to leave and come to Nasinu Secondary to try and get the Dux award.”
He said: “I decided to change school to encourage myself to work hard. I feel on top of the world as I thought our head boy would win the Dux award.
“I wanted to go to another school but due to the financial issues I couldn’t as our only source of income is the bean cart we have at home. This school was actually a great school that I have attended and it couldn’t be possible without the support of my form mates in year 13.”
Vikrant hopes to pursue a career in Agriculture and teaching.
