The Police team for the Ratu Sukuna Bowl have great respect for the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) team as their annual clash got underway last night.

Police Commissioner Brigadier-General Sitiveni Qiliho said they would be playing against the world champions of the Defence Rugby League World Cup (DRLWC) and also the Defence Rugby World Cup as well.

“We’d prefer to be running as underdogs,” he said.

Qiliho said eventhough they were the holders of the prestigious rugby title, playing against the Defence Rugby World Cup champions would be a huge struggle for them.

He likened the clash to a Goliath versus David encounter.

“We hope Goliath will fall,” Qiliho said.

He said both teams have prepared well both mentally and physically.

This, Qiliho says, would make the encounter more interesting.

The ANZ Ratu Sukuna Bowl competition will be on Friday at the ANZ Stadium, Suva. Kickoff time: 6pm.
