Ro Teimumu Kepa claims businesses are holding back from sponsoring  the Rewa Festival because of politics.

The Marama Bale Na Roko Tui Dreketi, paramount chief of Rewa Province and Burebasaga Confederacy Ro Teimumu said she had been informed by chief festival organizer, Aqela Cakobau, about the problem.

She made the remarks when she launched the Rewa Festival and the Bilibili (bamboo) Race at the chiefly village of Lomanikoro yesterday.

Ms Cakobau confirmed there were businesses that were wary about politics. She told them that there were no politics in the festival which was organised to raise funds for development in the province.

“It will be held at the Syria Park in Nausori from November 2-4 and will prominently feature a bilibili race,” she said.
