Mr Mobile and Chicken Express in Sigatoka relocated their businesses to a new complex yesterday, boasting a new look.

The commercial building ‘Rattan’ is owned by the Rattan Bhan Limited and is situated in the heart of the town.

The new outlet is located at Market Road, Sigatoka Town.

Mr Mobile and Chicken Express Group of Companies chief executive officer Aswin Sharma said it was a milestone achievement for them

“We thought to look better and feel new for the next generation and we now have more than 100 seatings with the fresher look,” he said.

Chicken Express opened in Sigatoka nine years ago. At the time, they were only able to cater for 24 people.

Later on they extended to cater for 65 people, but insisted on getting a fresher look.

Mr Sharma said the investment on the Chicken Express outlet is more than half a million dollars.

Mr Mobile, in joint venture with Vodafone, has spent more than $200,000.

“So basically when we look at it with the two shops open, it’s a three-quarter million dollar investment,” he said.

“Staff numbers expended to 20 for Chicken Express and six in the Vodafone. There has been a staff increase of about 15 per cent.”

Vodafone Fiji Retail Manger, Pranil Chaudhary said they saw that their previous store was quite small for the number of customers they were getting.

“We have reopened our doors with a more spacious outlet and new look and feel,” she said.

The store now has table displays where customers can have a great feel of the Smartphones.

Sigatoka Town Council chief executive officer Tulsi Ram said they are very proud to be working very closely with the Rattan.

“This is another facelift of the town. This is what the Council wants and we also want others to do it as well. This is the Tourist town and we want the standard to move up.”

Rattan Bhan Limited director Krishna Bhan said: “Today is a very big day and an unforgettable milestone for the company and for the township.”

“We have been in business since 1970 and we have extended our boundaries. We will continue to create more business and assist more Fijian to get employed.

“We have to move to another level with structure and building to show international level since it’s a tourism town.”
