Rain Expected To Ease Dry Weather Spell: Kumar

Rain is forecasted in the coming days which would ease the dry weather spell in parts of the country, says the Fiji Meteorological Service, director Ravind Kumar.

A weak trough of low pressure with associated cloud and showers lies to the east of Fiji and is gradually moving eastwards away from the group.

According to the Fiji Meteorological Services, another trough of low pressure is expected to approach the country from the west and affect the group.

Cloudy periods with some showers over the eastern parts and interior of the larger islands is expected with possible thunderstorms and heavy rainfall expected in the afternoon or evening.

Mr Kumar said the weather as such was normal and should there be a new development a release would be sent out.
