Whites return After 2 Years

After a two-year lapse the Suva women’s football team will make a comeback in the 2017 Vodafone Women Senior League competition to be played at the Fiji Football Academy ground, Suva, tomorrow.
Speaking to SUNsports yesterday, Suva Women’s FC secretary Titilia Luveni said they are vying to qualify for the Women’s Interdistrict Championship to be held on November 24-25 at a venue that’s yet to be confirmed.
“Preparations are on track as we have been training for the past two weeks,” she said. “We have a team of 20 young talented girls who are aged between to 15 to 30 and are positive of giving their best performance.
“We are excited to make a comeback after two years but our aim is to book a spot in the women’s IDC which will be played at the end of the month. There will be four teams from the Southern division, two from the North and three from the West that will qualify.
“Our side is coached by former Suva football star midfielder Inosi Cava. He was very instrumental in reviving the team.
“We thank our sponsors Ba Motor parts and Dai-ichi Auto House Limited for their kind donations.”
Meanwhile, Suva face Lami at 10am, followed by Rewa who will play against Tailevu/ Naitasiri at 12pm. Navua will also take on Nasinu.
