Green Moon can: Owner

The Vodafone Local Horse 600 metres champion Green Moon stole the show at the Sabeto Races at Aviva Farm in Nadi last Saturday.
Named after 2012 Emirates Melbourne Cup winner, owner Riyaz Ali fondly known as Tawake to his friends says, they had two days to prepare for the race.
“I was looking forward to this and was hoping for a win which we finally got,” he said.
“We worked hard in our preparations but at the same we were also preparing for my father-in-law’s funeral. That is why we had two days of training.”
Ali said Green Moon has the potential to do even better if prepared well.
“Green Moon raced alongside renowned horses like Vodafone, Ali Boy, Sodelpa and Junior Trigger.”
Ali who is 38 years of age has been racing for the past 25 years. He said it was unfortunate that bad weather had forced organisers to call off the event.
“We’re hoping to be much stronger in next year’s event.”
