‘Terminator’ Stirs Excitement Among our Police Band

Members of the Fiji Police Band could not believe their eyes when the ‘Terminator’, Arnold Schwarzenegger, headed for them.
The former Californian governor had earlier met the head of the Fijian delegation Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum at a dinner reception hosted by the Mayor of the City of Bonn, Ashok-Alexander Sridharan, to mark the start of Climate Summit for local and regional leaders.
The highlight of the evening was when the ‘Terminator’ took off to meet with the Fiji Police Band members who were providing entertainment for the evening. And, he did much more than just meeting the band.
He conducted the second half of the band’s musical performance.
In a lively turn of events and catching everyone by surprise, Mr Schwarzenegger made a beeline to the head of the Band Assistant Superintendent Ilaitia Tamani Vakatalai. He asked Mr Vakatalai if he could take over as the conductor.
“I was very surprised but he did a good job. We are so happy that Mr Schwarzenegger showed interest in the band and came over to meet with us,” he said.
Speaking at the event, Mr Sayed-Khaiyum reiterated Fiji’s commitment to leading the charge on climate change and extended the invitation for all present to visit the Fijian Pavilion to experience the spirit of Fiji.
Mr Schwarzenegger is in Bonn to attend COP23 and is expected to meet with Prime Minister and President of COP23 Voreqe Bainimarama today.
Mr Bainimarama had invited him when he was in the US in June this year. During that trip he enlisted the services of California Governor Jerry Brown to serve as a Special Envoy to States at COP23.
