Proud dad says pre-school should be compulsory

A native of Nairukuruku Village in Naitasiri believes kindergarten should be made compulsory because it is vital preparation for tots before entering primary school.
“I feel that pre-school should be compulsory as it is the first step to the child’s education growing pathway,” said Ratu Waisale Nacolarara.
Ratu Waisale made the comment during his son five-year-old Ratu Simione Momoivalu’s annual graduation ceremony with 60 other pupils yesterday at the Makoi Muslim Pre-school in Nasinu.
He was a proud father witnessing his son’s graduation and because of the change he witnessed in his son he wanted to encourage parents to make sure they send their tots to kindergarten.
Ratu Waisale said it was very important for parents to send their children to pre-school as it helped them get prepared and tuned in when entering primary school and had an advantage to easily make friends.
“My son was very shy at first when he joined the pre-school and now he is very active around his friends,” Ratu Waisale said.
“And he has gained a lot of knowledge that maybe we could not teach him in the village if we did not send him to pre-school.
“I had sent both of my children to pre-school and I am very glad that both of them were academically prepared to do well in their classes the next year.”
