‘She has been a hard working child from the beginning, says Jasper Williams High School dux Zaffia Ali

Zaffia Ali was over the moon when she received the Dux Award at the Jasper Williams High School annual prize giving ceremony yesterday.

She plans to join a reputable accounting firm in the years to come.

Zaffia also scooped the student of the year award for Year 13 and the best Arts student award for the subjects; English, Mathematics, Accounting, Economics and Computer Studies.

“I plan to pursue a degree in Accounting at the University of the South Pacific from next year,” Zaffia said.

Zaffia’s dad Azaad Ali, who has been a taxi driver for 15 years was happy that his daughter made the family proud.

“She has been a hard working child from the beginning. She did not receive any awards at Years Nine and 10,” Mr Ali said.

“We saw that she started studying late and started working hard at school. From Year 11 she started receiving special awards at the school and from then, she has maintained this.”

Zaffia also scored the highest in Year 12 scoring 377/400 in her external examination.
