Pastor Among 10 To Be Charged In Marijuana Raid

A 30-year-old pastor is amongst 10 people being brought to Suva following a one week Police operation in Kadavu.
This was confirmed by Assistant Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu.
ACP Tudravu said Operation Cavuraka moved to Kadavu last week whereby more than 10 farms were raided and more than 700 plants believed to be marijuana, ranging up to two metres were uprooted.
Those arrested were from 20 to 53 years of age.
Of the 10 arrested, six have been charged with cultivation of marijuana, three found in possession
1 criminal intimidation resisting arrest. .
“We are also warning members of the public not to threaten the officers who are conducting the raids as we had an incident during a raid where a suspect threatened the raid team with a cane knife.
“If they are man enough to associate themselves with these illegal activities then they should be man enough to face the consequences when caught as we will not tolerate any threats against our officers.”
