Three In Hospital After Carrier Hits 10-Wheeler Truck

Three people are admitted at the Labasa Hospital after an accident along the Labasa Dreketi Highway on Tuesday night.

Ms Naisoro said the carrier carrying five passengers hit a 10-wheeler truck that was travelling in front of the carrier.

“Two passengers on the carrier and the driver of the truck remain admitted at the hospital while the other three passengers were treated and sent home,” she said.

The incident happened near Naravuka Village near Seaqaqa.

 

Post mortem rules out murder

Meanwhile, the post-mortem results of a man found in his driveway in Vunavau, Labasa on Sunday, revealed that he died of natural causes.

Meli Sakia’s body was found near the entrance to his driveway.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirmed the results ruled out murder.

“According to the post mortem result, he was not murdered,” Ms Naisoro said yesterday.

The late Mr Sakia  was last seen at a club in Labasa Town the night before.
