Wainibuka Get Set For Chow

Wainibuka athletes are adamant to improve their performance in the FMF Chow Games which starts at the ANZ Stadium, Suva today.
The 72 athletes collected 2 gold, one silver and one bronze medal last year in the 1500m and 800m events.
For athletes who are used to run on the grass tracks, they look confident and fit ahead of the two-day competition.
Coach Taniela Naqali confirmed they would be participating in all track and field events.
“We won two gold medals last year in the 1500m event and this year these athletes are confident of going out there and burning the tracks in long distance events again.
“We have only one gold medallist from last year Mesake Bebe in the squad and there are other new determined young athletes who are raring and ready for the challenge,” Naqali said.
The district is represented by seven schools.
“We also have some good athletes taking part in the field events.”
