On October 14, Vishal Prasad’s twin brother Vikrant became the dux of Nasinu Secondary School.

Yesterday, he did the same when he became the dux at Assemblies of God High School at Calvary Temple Church in Samabula.

This, Vishal said, is a testament to their hard work and perseverance so that they could improve their family’s standard of living.

An emotional, Vishal explained how his father was a street kid at the age of 10 and dedicated his achievement to him.

His family sells bean at their home as a source of income.

“My father didn’t go to school so he wanted us to study hard and my mum would remind us the reason why we are in school,” Vishal said.

“I want to do something in my life and for my family because my family has gone through a lot of struggle.”

Vishal had hoped to become a pilot however he understands that this may not be possible because of financial constraints.

Instead he is opting to explore other related fields.

“Now I will choose mechanical engineering or electrical engineering so that I can pay back my parents for their upbringing.”
