Human Resource Must Know The Law

It is very important for the Human Resource managers to know contracts and the laws that surround it.
This was stated by Fiji Commerce and Employers Federation Industrial relations consultant, Noel Tofinga.
Mr Tofinga shared and objective overview of the Employers Relations Act through case studies to assist HR practitioners to effectively deal with employee relations. The presentation was made at the Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association HOTEC Tradeshow at the Denarau Convention Centre at Sheraton Resort Fiji which ended yesterday.
“Employment relation begins when the contracts comes to life and it ends when the contract is terminated,” he said.
“It is important for HR to understand the different aspects of management, termination and rewarding of workers to provide a satisfying and a safe working environment.”
Mr Tofinga also highlighted the issues of employment relations in the hospitality industry which is becoming consistence.
Therefore his presence at the HOTEC Tradeshow would enable him to address the issue to the HR’s.
Mr Tofinga presented on both days to different batches of HR managers and practitioners.
