Ashneel Sudhakar’s father passes away

The former head teacher, Chandra Sudhakar, of Arya Kanya Pathshala in Ba died on Friday after a short illness. He was aged 72.

A former scholar of Natabua College, Mr Sudhakar graduated from Natabua Teachers’ College in 1969 and started his teaching career in Bua.

In a long and distinguished teaching career he held posts of head teacher in many schools in Vanua Levu and Viti Levu.

He first attained the post of the head teacher at Vuya Public School in Bua in 1985 and retired as the head teacher of one of the largest primary schools in Ba, the Arya Kanya Pathshala (AKP).

Son and Government Whip Ashneel Sudhakar said: “His former students who now have successful careers in various fields speak of him with love and respect.

“Everything I have achieved in life is because of the teachings and values instilled in me by my father.”

Chandra Sudhakar is survived by his wife Premila Wati Sudhakar, also a former head teacher, and children Anal Ashwindra Sudhakar, Deveena Sudhakar-Herman and Ashneel Sudhakar.

His memorial service will take place at Veisaru Sanatan Dharam School in Ba today at 9.30am and he will be cremated at Veisaru Public Cemetery.
