James Sung was the shining star at the 2017 St Vincent’s College annual school prize-giving in Natovi on Friday.

The Year 13 student scooped four best subject awards and the dux award.

With the apt theme ‘Shine Like a Star’, James said: “I feel good that I achieved what I wanted to achieve.

“I will go to university get a job and support my family.

“I want to become a hotel manager because there is a lot of opportunities in the tourism industry.”

Father, Joseph Sung said: “It’s a good achievement. We’re happy to be supporting him through his years of school.

“The achievement didn’t come as a surprise because we kept on telling him you need to do well for your tertiary education.

“We set him a target mark of 350 and we are happy and proud that he achieved it.”

Chief guest Pure Fiji director Gaetan Austin thanked the teachers, students, parents and the Natovi community for another successful educational year.
