Ref Koide Here For Raka 7s

Japanese referee Kenji Koide is in Fiji for the first time to officiate in the two-day Raka 7s which starts at the ANZ Stadium tomorrow.
Koide, 31, is a product of the Japan Rugby Union high performance programme and believes there is more to learn in Fiji.
“Fiji are the Olympic sevens gold medallist and coming here for the first time will be a learning experience for me.
“I know you have good Fijian referees who will help me in the weekend,” Koide said.
He anticipates an exciting weekend.
“It’s raining here but I know it will be an exciting two days, I’m looking forward to this event.”
Meanwhile, tournament director Ropate Kauvesi indicated the tournament is different.
“We are setting a standard of having 15 players registered but only 12 to play.”
The total prize-money is $51,000, whereby the men’s Cup winner gets $25,000 and the winner for women’s category gets $5000.
