Aditi is the first dux in her immediate family
Aditi Ashni Prakash became the first in her family to win the dux award.
And the 13-year-old of Rishikul Primary School knows that her parents are proud of her achievement.
Her mother, AshikaLata could not hold back her tears when she saw her daughter, eldest of two, claim her prize during the prizegiving on Wednesday.
“I was very surprised but in the end I was happy and proud of her because we knew she is capable of achieving great awards and marks in her class,” Ms Lata said.
“She has made us very proud of her and we are expecting more from her. This was just the beginning. She now has much tougher competition coming up when she goes to high school.”
Aditi said says she wants to become a heart surgeon.
“The focus and hard work I am doing right now is to fulfil my mother’s dream for me to become a heart surgeon.
“And I have promised her that I will continue with my hard work to achieve her dream.”
