College’s Top Duo Aims To Study Medicine

Neha Natasha was awarded the Outstanding Student of the Year Award while Firoza Bibi was awarded the Dux Award during the Kamil Muslim College’s annual prizegiving ceremony in Ba on Wednesday.
Both Neha and Firoza are keen to study medicine at the Fiji National University from next year.
Neha also scooped the 3R Initiator Award and was awarded the Overall Attendance Award as she had never missed school during her five years at the college.
A proud Neha said that she was very happy with her awards.
“I have been working hard and my hard work has paid off today. I will study hard in my tertiary life and make my family proud.”
Her father Haizel Shamil said his daughter had made the family proud.
“She used to wake up at 3am and study at home. She has reaped the fruit of her hard work and we wish her the best for the future,” Mr Shamil said.
Firoza scooped the Best Science Award, Quran Tilawat, Team Mathematics Competition, Fiji Mathematics Competition and Islamic Written Quiz awards.
She also received prizes for scoring the highest marks in Mathematics, Biology, English and Chemistry in the annual exam and was also awarded for being a good leader (headgirl).
Firoza’s mum Farina Bibi said that they were happy with their daughter’s achievement.
“We wish her the best for the future and we are confident that she will make us proud.”
