Everything I do I do it for them, says dux about parents

The dux of Swami Vivekananda College (SVC) says his achievement in life is about making his parents happy.
As Mohammed Arsheed walked up to the podium, on his mind, were his parents.
“My mother stays at home and my dad is self-employed, so everything I do, I do it for them and try to make them proud. They motivate me every day and are always pushing me every time.
“I also wholeheartedly thank my friends, teachers and the Almighty God for all their support and blessings.
“Right now I am filled with mixed emotions, happy, excited and emotional all at the same time.
“It was all part of the plan just to work hard early morning studies and listening to the teachers.”
The 18-year-old is the youngest of three siblings, and is the first in his family to attain the award.
Chief guest and Permanent Secretary for the Office of the Prime Minister Yogesh Karan, advised the students to always maintain the momentum that Fiji was portraying around the world through good leadership.
He added under any circumstances students needed to build on the knowledge that they attained because their future was in the quality of education they received every day.
