Leota Wants To Do Fiji Proud

Samoan national and Team Fiji archer Fred Leota says, representing Fiji in the Pacific Mini Games was his way of giving back.
“I’m interested to shoot against the Samoans,” he said.
“It is good to shoot and represent Fiji because this is where a lot of my sporting skills developed like rugby, paddling and archery so it makes sense for me to represent and give-back.
“A lot of friends have asked me why you are not representing Samoa and for me there is no point because I’m here, this is what they have given me and this is what I am going to give back.”
Representing Fiji in international competitions like the Pacific Mini Games is something I want to do whole-heartedly.
“When I am here, I am here 110percent and it does not matter if I am representing my club or country.”
Leota previously played rugby in the flanker position for USP Rugby Islanders Green in the Suva Rugby Union’s Escott Shield competition.
He and wife Lisa will be featuring for Fiji in the men’s, women’s and mixed team compound archery category in the Pacific Mini Games in Port Vila.
