Raka Sevens tournament director Ropate Kauvesi says, all winners from their tournament will get to keep their trophy.

“The significance is that what we have here is the first ever Raka 7s tournament trophy and this will be given to every player and management team to take away as their very own,” the former Fiji Airways Fijian 7s team manager said.

“This will be a big remembrance for the players that they will have on their shelves at home. Reminding them that they were part of this inaugural tournament.”

Kauvesi made the announcement during the unveiling of the men and women’s winner cash prize-money.

The winner of the men’s competition will receive $25,000 while the women’s winner will walk away with $5000.

He indicated that there would be additional entertainment for spectators during intervals of the games during the two-day tournament.

The tournament gets underway today at the ANZ Stadium in Suva.
