Edmond Wye was in awe of his son, Zachary after he was awarded the Junior Dux at the Marist Brothers Primary School’s prizegiving ceremony in Suva on Wednesday.

Mr Wye said he was very proud of his son’s achievement.

“It is just a wonderful stepping stone for him. I am proud because I see him doing very well in the future,” he said.

Zachary is renowned for having an intellectual ability far beyond his years.

This was evident when the Year 4 student precociously responded to the question: “What do you think about school?”

“The best thing about school is learning and socialising with people,” Zachary answered.

“Most of all, I love learning about Maths.”

Zachary has also made up his mind about his future career choice, and that is to be an architect.

Meanwhile, Nathan Holter was awarded the Senior Dux of Marist Brothers Primary School.

Marist Brother, Terry Costello was invited to Marist Champagnat Hall to officiate the school’s prizegiving as chief guest.
