Aspiring Geologist Is Dux Of Labasa Muslim Primary School

Abdul Ali was delighted when he received the Dux Award of Labasa Muslim Primary School during the annual prizegiving on Thursday.
The 13-year-old of Naodamu, Labasa, said he wants to become a geologist because he loves studying soil and rocks.
“To become a geologist I have to study hard because it is very expensive to purse this dream and I can only do this if I train myself to study diligently,” Abdul said.
“The other reason I want to become a geologist is because there are a few in Fiji and I want to become the best geologist in my country.
“My mother Fozia Ali and father Razim Ali are supporting my dream, but I don’t want to be a burden to them.
“Now that I have successfully completed my primary education I am proud of myself and confident to achieve greater heights in the future,” the eldest of two siblings said.
“I believe dreams can come true if we realise our potential and develop it from a very young age.
“I would like to thank my father who is operating a private truck business and my mother, a kindergarten teacher in my school for allowing me to choose my career path.
“I have seen many parents pressuring their children to be what they want instead of allowing them to live their dream.
“I am thankful to God for blessing me with a wonderful and supportive parents.”
He scored 434 out of 500.
