Bigger, Better 2018: Ngan

Raka 7s major sponsor Kinton International Group Limited has set bigger plans for the tournament next year.
Kinton Group managing director William Ngan was impressed with the turnout yesterday and he expects more than 8000 fans today.
“Good weather, good turnout and we expect more on Saturday.
“We are really committed for 2018. We will have sponsors and more overseas teams as well. We are expecting a better and bigger tournament next year,” Ngan said.
There could be an increase in prize money next year. The total prize money this year is $51,000, whereby the men’s Cup winner gets $25,000 and the winner for the women’s category get $5000.
“Next year there could be a slight increase in prize money with gifts to winners,” he added.
“I would like to acknowledge the support of other sponsors that contributed towards the Raka 7s tournament including Huawei Fiji Limited, BLK, Tanoa Plaza Suva, Coca-Cola Amatil Fiji Limited and Telecom Fiji Limited.”
Ngan also applauded the effort of 150 volunteers.
Meanwhile, in the men’ division saw the favourite teams dominating and booked their berth to the second round of elimination today.
In the first round of bowl elimination First Landing Cavaliers was the first team to book their berth into the second round after defeating West Coast 22-0.
