Dux Rigieta Dominates Awards Ceremony

Rigieta Nagera was presented the Dux award for Draiba Primary School at the school’s prizegiving ceremony on Wednesday.
In a remarkable domination, Rigieta took the top award in five out of six subject prizes. These were English, Mathematics, Social Sciences, Healthy Living and iTaukei studies.
“It was a challenge to keep up with all my study commitments during the year,” Rigieta said.
“But I worked very hard and I’ve always thought about achieving this one day.”
The Year 8 student said without the support from her parents, teachers and the Lord – she would not have achieved what she did this year.
“I would like to thank the Lord for giving me this opportunity,” she said.
“I especially want to dedicate this award to my parents. I want to thank them for their loving support and also my teachers.”
Rigieta said she hoped to become an accountant in the future.
