Nakaikogo Sanatan Dharam School: ‘Guide Pupils With Technology, Teach Them Not To Abuse It’

Jitendra Singh, the proud parent of Nakaikogo Sanatan Dharam School dux, stressed the importance of guiding pupils with the use of technology.
Mr Singh made the comments after his 13-year-old daughter was awarded the dux trophy during the school’s prizegiving ceremony on Thursday night.
“We need to support our children especially in this modern technological world,” said the Fiji National University’s National Training and Productivity Centre training officer.
“We should guide them and let them be on par with all these technologies, but with the correct use and the right way to use it; it should not be abused.”
He said technology could be utilised as a good learning tool if children were guided on how to use it correctly.
He said teaching was a noble profession while commending the teachers who taught his daughter for the past eight years.
“As a parent I am really happy that she is following in our footsteps. Teaching is a very noble profession and they are the ones who teach our children,” he said.
Dux Eesha Devi Singh dedicated her achievement to her parents.
Mother Sharmila Singh is the Assistant Head Teacher of Nakaikogo Sanatan Dharam.
Eesha said her parents had always been her role model as she found inspiration in their dedication towards their work.
“My parents always pushed me to study hard, to respect my teachers and to be outstanding in everything I do,” she said.
“I dedicate this dux award to my parents because if not for them I would not have been able to achieve this.”
