Narmata’s Road To Medical Career Well Under Way

Dad proud of daughter’s dedication and achievements
Ashish Chand, 50, of Suva said he could not be more proud of his second eldest daughter, who ended up achieving the Bhawani Dayal Arya College Dux and Bhawanian award.
After achieving the two major awards during their school’s annual graduation ceremony in Nakasi, Nausori on Tuesday, headgirl Narmata Kumari, 18, said she is looking forward to joining the Fiji School of Medicine. She aims to become a doctor, a career which she said will fulfil her father’s dream.
“I am very proud of her today. I cannot express how much excited and happy I am. She is a goal achiever and one-time learner.
“This is only the secondary level and she knows that she has to work harder to achieve better in the tertiary level.
“We are expecting much more from her from now as she has given us an opportunity to raise our expectations from her.
“It is our dream to see her become someone that would not only help herself, her family but the entire nation. We want her to develop her career in something that she can help every Fijian. This is because Fiji is in a growing position and we need youngsters like her to grow while helping the nation grow,” Mr Chand said.
Narmata said: “My parents are my inspiration and because of them I have won so many awards. They are my priority and I want to become something in life that will make my family proud and help the nation.”
