The Veivatuloa rugby 7s side return home yesterday learning a lot after day one of the Raka 7s tournament.

The young team from Namosi was formed for the two-day tourney.

Team manager Iobe Taukeisalili said majority of their players are students and it was a great experience for them to play at the ANZ Stadium.

“Most of the players are high school and tertiary students so coming and taking part in the two-day tournament is a good experience for them.

“Before we came down to Suva I reminded the boys that it’s not about winning but giving their best and make sure they learn from bigger teams,” Taukeisalili said.

The players had to do farming and fundraise for their trip to Suva.

The side lost all their three games going down 27-0 to Silver Waters, 15-5 to Waimanu and 19-5 to Nakorolevu.
