Varavu Muslim Primary School : Mohammed Scoops Numerous Awards To Become Student Of The Year

Mohammed Nabil Begg’s mother, Vacalaini Driu, couldn’t hold back her tears when her son was awarded the Student of the Year award at Varavu Muslim Primary School’s award event in Ba this week.
Mohammed also received the Quran Reading Award, Year 8 Progressive Award, distinctions in the Mathematics Competition, Quiz Competition and also a Soccer award.
Father Mohammed Riyaz said: “He has been working hard throughout the year and is a good example to his younger siblings since he is the eldest.
“He has made my wife’s and my dream come true and we are blessed. We did not know about him receiving this award and we are shocked. ”
Mohammed said: “I had to balance my sports and education this year. I had to train during soccer training as I was part of the U14 Ba team and at the same time study hard in school.
“I was able to balance my studies with sports as my father who is a Police officer instilled discipline in all of us from the very beginning.”
Begg plans to become an automotive engineer in future and also play soccer for the Ba team.
He will be joining Kamil Muslim College next year.
