Vunimono Islamia School Dux is Moved, Inspired By Theme, ‘Education Can Change The World’

Izhaan Nadeem says, the Minister for Health and Medical Services Rosy Akbar’s speech moved him when she said that education can change the world.
These words were taken from Nelson Mandela’s quote: ‘Education is the most powerful weapon to change the world’.
Izhaan was announced the dux of Vunimono Islamia School during the prizegiving on Thursday.
“I dedicate my achievement to my parents who have always been my motivator,” he said.
“I was also motivated by the minister’s speech when she said that education can change the world.
“I wanted to leave this school knowing that my name will mean something. I am happy that I was able to fulfil my dream. It wasn’t easy but I did it.”
Ms Akbar said: “It is our duty to ensure that our children are given the very best. We want the world to be a better place for our children.”
Izhaan who also scooped the Most Outstanding Student and Student of the Year, has links to Pakistan.
His father, Nadeem Rashad is originally from Pakistan, but married a Fijian and since 2007, has become a citizen.
His father hopes that he will further his tertiary studies in his country of origin and pursue the career of his choice.
