Tongan U20 Captain Promises Something ‘Special’

The Tongan Under-20 rugby team will not be easily swayed by the pressure of playing against Fiji on their home ground.
Those were the words of Tongan U20 captain Sailosi Junior Vea who also indicated that they have been inspired to beat the Fijians right in front of their fans just like what the Tongan rugby league side did in the World Cup.
“The games tomorrow and on Saturday are going to be tough so we are taking the Mate Ma’a Tonga rugby league performance to motivate us,” he said.
“We have a very strong team and the boys are all looking forward to the games. We still have a lot to of work to do but we will work out something special.”
Vea said they are here to win and are calling all Tongan supporters to come out and cheer them today.
Meanwhile, Fijian U20 rugby team manager Veremalua Vugakoto said they’re focused on what the coaches have taught them in the past weeks.
“They are getting ready for it and are excited at the same time. The coach has constantly emphasized to the players the importance of winning. We need to focus on what we have been learning the past two weeks. We know the Tongan boys are big and we will work on our set pieces and defence,” he added.
