The Fiji Airways Fijian 7s team needs to make a mark in the Dubai this weekend.

Since the World Sevens Series started in 1999, we only won twice in Dubai and that was in 2013 and 2015.

This is also a perfect time for Coach Gareth Baber to win his first tournament at the 7he Sevens as it will boost his confidence

It will be a perfect opportunity for Seremaia Tuwai to win his first tournament as the man in charge.

The team took time off yesterday and have adapted well to the weather having arrived last week and looked after by the UAE rugby community. Fiji play Russia at 7.06pm on Friday, Wales at 10,06pm and Australia at 4.06am.

Meanwhile, Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s team play their first game against Ireland at 8pm tonight, Spain at 10,56pm and Canada at 2.15am.

The only teams remaining for the Iliesa Tanivula-coached side to beat are Australia and New Zealand.

This is a perfect opportunity for the team to make it count and win their first tournament on the series as they have been playing together for years,

Squad: Lavenia Cavuru, Merewai Cumu, Rusila Nagasau, Ana Maria Naimasi, Litia Naiqato, Timaima Ravisa, Viniana Riwai, Ana Maria Roqica (captain), Pricilla Sauvavi Siata, Vasiti Kuma Solikoviti, Lavenia Tinai, Luisa Basei Tisolo.
