It will be the first time that the McLeod family from Sydney, Australia will spend Christmas in Fiji.

Yesterday, Sarah McLeod was visiting the iconic Suva City Carnegie Library with her two daughters.

Ms McLeod said they came to Fiji four months ago and it was a special moment for her family to spend Christmas with Fijians this time around.

“My husband transferred from Australia to work in Fiji for Paradise Beverages, so we will be in Fiji for the next two to three years,” she said.

While the family would miss Christmas back home, Ms McLeod said they were excited to share a new memory here.

“Being in Fiji for the past four months we have met a lot of Fijian friends and families and they are very loving and caring people.”

The family will celebrate at their home in Pacific Harbour. For New Year’s, they plan a visit to the Old Capital.

“We will be making our booking soon for this visit, and we’ll spend New Year in Levuka and visit some of the old architectural sites that we used to hear, read and see on the internet.

“Also for this Christmas our two daughters Charlotte, and Lucy will doing some charity work by visiting orphanages and donating books and toys.”
