Team Fiji sprinter Shane Tuvusa is to make an impact in the 100 metres, 200m in the Open grade during the Pacific Mini Games in Port Vila, Vanuatu next week.

“This is the first time for me competing in the Open grade, it is a whole new level and I am looking forward to it,” Tuvusa said.

The Natalecake, Ba native previously won the Coca-Cola Games blue ribbon event earlier this year.

His achievement dubbed him as a lucky first timer, after running his first 100m in this year’s Coke Games and winning the coveted title.

He could very well be repeating the same feat in Port Vila.

“This is much different from the Coke Games, because I will be competing against top athletes from other Pacific Island countries, but I am looking forward to the challenge,”Tuvusa said.

He is wary that all athletes will be very competitive particularly those from Vanuatu and Papua New Guinea but was very optimistic of running well for Fiji.
