Poor Start For Fijiana

The Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s team will need to improve on their defence if they are to achieve their Top 3 target in the Dubai 7s women’s tournament.
Last night, the Ana Maria Roqica-captained-side were outclassed by an aggressive Ireland side 20-12 in their pool opener.
The Fijiana 7s players’ reluctance to make first-time tackles allowed Ireland to run in two soft tries to Amee Leigh Murphy-Crowe and Ashleigh Baxter for a 10-0 lead at halftime.
The Fijiana defence continued to be in disarray at the start of the second half as Ireland romped to a 20-0 lead.
Then lanky prop Litia Naiqato used her off-loading skills to set-up winger Tima Ravisa to score their first try as they trailed 20-5. The Fijiana side came alive and Ravisa narrowed the deficit to 20-12 with her second try, which was also converted.
The Fijiana must now win their next two pool games against Spain and Canada if they are to make the Cup quarterfinals
