Samuela Delai Bulimaibau, 49, of Gau walked away with four major awards at the Davuilevu Theological College graduation ceremony yesterday when he graduated with his Diploma in Theology.

The father of seven acknowledged the role his wife, Divere Bulimaibau, played in his life, which he said assisted him in achieving success.

“Without my wife’s support I wouldn’t have reached this far. Looking back from Day One till today, I have no regrets.

“God has his own timing in everyone’s life. We plan our future, but God has the last say,” he said.

Mr Bulimaibau took the Principal’s Prize for Academic Excellence, Commendable Leadership, Best All Around and Community Leadership awards.

The Qarani native said that despite all the challenges he had to overcome, his reward was sweet.

“It was tough, especially when it came to time management and commitments, but I was able to overcome it and I thank my wife for always being there from the start,” he said.

“I was working for the Ministry of Provincial Development when I heard the call of the Lord. I believe with my experience and knowledge I will serve better with God’s calling.”

He worked for the Government for 20 years and said his experience would help in his calling.

“I am very much looking forward to my appointment next year and I am ready to face all challenges ahead,” he said.

His wife, Divere Bulimaibau said: “When my husband told me about his decision, all I can do was cry as I thought about how this will affect our seven children.

“I didn’t ask him any questions, but was just silent, then I heard a voice that said I was not to worry about anything and that gave me peace.

“I thank the Lord for his provisions in life, especially for the past three years and I look forward to the years ahead.”

She said when people put their trust in God everything would work out.
