Eat Right, Stay Fit: Nand

Charlene Nand says Team Fiji athletes need to eat the right food and drink a lot of water during the Pacific Mini Games in Vanuatu.
The Team Fiji head physiotherapist warned athletes the eed to stay fit and healthy.
“We need to take preventative measures as it’s going to be hot and humid,” Nand said,
The Team Fiji medical team comprised seven physiotherapists and a doctor.

Two physiotherapists will be involved with the Team Fiji men’s football and Team Fiji men’s sevens teams throughout the Games.
She said they had prepared for more than a year for the four-yearly event given the number of athletes and officials participating.
“We held mini workshops, basic injury management and why hydration and good choice of food is important,”Nand said.
She said their goal would be to ensure that all the members of Team Fiji were looked after.
“We do what we can to make sure that all our athletes are in the right condition and shape to compete and win medals.
“That’s our contribution, It is all good fun, it is part of making a difference with the athletes and helping them get that gold or achieve their personal best,” she said.
